Session Reviews Management

The landing page for session reviews generates a table with available exam sessions for review, starting in the current month.

Sessions are only saved for review for a maximum of 90 days before they are automatically deleted.

The table provides information on:

  • Candidate Name

  • Test Name

  • Date - Exam date

  • Session ID

  • Registration ID

  • Status

    • Cancelled - the registration was withdrawn by the candidate or an administrative member, or the exam date expired

    • Completed - the exam was launched and the candidate submitted the results

    • Suspend - the exam was halted either due to technical difficulties requiring a candidate to discontinue their session or due to a candidate being removed from the exam session after failing to adhere to alerts identifying unacceptable testing conditions or behavior

  • Reviewed

If you would like to search for a particular candidate, you can conduct a targeted search by inputting the candidate login. Candidate logins are used for the keyword on this page due to their unique qualities compared to searching by name.

Session Review Details

Opening up the session review details is where you will be able to review the details of the exam, a full recording of the candidate’s session, a full transcript of events that occurred, and complete a review of the session.

Media

There are several media components available in the session review.

  • Photos - Used to compare and confirm the identity of the candidate

    • Enrollment Photo - the top photo displays the candidate when they completed their biometric profile

    • Launch Photo - the bottom photo displays the candidate when they launched the session

  • Video - a full-length recording of the testing session

    • A green frame around the session display indicates that the candidate is viewing a test item

    • A red frame around the session display indicates the candidate is not viewing a test item, such was when reviewing an alert or interacting with a technician

Following the conclusion of a testing session, it may take up to 90 minutes for the session video to upload and be available for review. The actual amount of time required will vary depending on the length of the video, available bandwidth, the number of sessions being uploaded simultaneously, etc.

Transcript

Below the session media, there will be a transcript table outlining every logged event of the testing session. The columns in the table are:

  • Date/Time

  • Session Timestamp - the timestamp corresponds with the video recording and represents how far into the session/video each event occurred.

  • Type

    • Information - automatically recorded session event information

    • Status - identifies process events such as initiation of exam sessions, escalations to technician, etc.

    • Alert - identifies session interruptions where a proctor sent an alert to the candidate

      • Select the ‘Alert’ link to see the exact moment in the video that the alert was triggered

    • Message - identifies actions or process confirmations initiated by a technician and responses by the candidate.

  • Message - provides data associated with the type of transcript item

    • Messages will include a ‘Sent by’ label, with either the email of the candidate or a Kryterion employee when applicable

    • Begin Event Session Client IP - records the IP address of the candidate’s computer

    • Session Publishing Video - indicates the session video stream is active

    • Start - indicates the exam has launched

    • Session Continued - Indicates that the candidate clicked the CONTINUE TEST button following receipt of an initial alert.

    • Session Escalated by Proctor - Indicates that the proctor escalated the candidate to a technician for support

    • Session Suspended - The exam was halted prematurely. Typically occurs when a candidate fails to heed alerts or technician guidance for a second time.

      • An online proctored exam session halted by a Kryterion proctor or technician, often due to non-standard exam behavior by the candidate or technical issues that degrade session quality standards.

Suspension management varies by client and circumstance. In some cases, immediate relaunch is allowed. In others,

KRYTERION informs the exam sponsor of the suspension and candidates must contact the sponsor to determine the next steps. Sponsors can view session video to assess the severity of the issue and decide on next steps.

Options include allowing the candidate to restart the suspended exam at the point it was halted or exam termination.

    • Session has been Terminated - Indicates that testing session was closed out prior to candidate’s submission of the exam.

      • The permanent cancellation of an active testing session. Typically initiated by a Kryterion credentialed proctor or technician. May also result from the breach of a client-defined behavioral threshold.

Typically proceeded by one or more candidate alerts and a suspension notice. May occur due to non-standard exam behavior by a candidate during an exam session or as a result of technical issues that degrade session quality standards.

A terminated exam cannot be relaunched or rescheduled. The candidate must re-register for the exam. Exam sessions terminated for inappropriate behavior are non-refundable.
